THE PROBLEM

The plant knows. The system finds out tomorrow.

Ask a supervisor how the shift is going and you will get an accurate answer. Ask the system and you will get yesterday's. Production is recorded on paper travellers or in a spreadsheet, keyed in at the end of the shift, and consolidated the following morning — by which point the decisions that could have been made have already been made without it. Meanwhile the ERP holds the work order but has no idea what is actually happening against it: how much has run, at what rate, on which machine, or whether the plan is still achievable.

What the system tracks

Read directly from the machines, continuously, with no operator data entry required.

Plan versus actual, live

Planned output against actual output at machine, line and shift level, updated continuously — so the gap is visible while there is still time to close it.

Output by machine and by line

Production counted automatically from the machine itself, not estimated from run time or reconstructed from the count at the end of the line.

Shift performance

Output and efficiency per shift, so handovers are informed and shift-to-shift comparison is based on the same measure for everyone.

Efficiency against target

Each machine's achievement against its own plan, expressed consistently, so "behind" means the same thing across the plant.

Live machine parameters

Speed, setpoints and current process values alongside the production numbers, because output without context does not explain itself.

No manual data entry

Nothing depends on an operator remembering to record something at the end of a busy shift. The record is a by-product of production.

How it works

1

The plan is loaded

Production targets are set per machine and per period, either entered in the system or taken from your ERP.

2

Actuals are collected automatically

The acquisition layer reads output and process values straight from the controllers, continuously, and writes them to the database.

3

The gap is shown as it opens

Plan and actual sit side by side on screen for operators, supervisors and management, each seeing the level of detail they need.

Technical detail

Production counts and process values are read from the machine controllers by the acquisition services and stored against the machine, shift and period. Because collection is independent of the web application, tracking continues uninterrupted while the MES is updated or restarted. Targets can be maintained in the system or synchronised from an ERP work order.
